Buckhorn Dairy is located in the Mt. Sterling, IL area where they raise a herd of their Grass-Fed Holstein and Brown Swiss cross dairy cows. They are a small family operation and produce pasteurized and non-homogenized milk selections. Non-homogenized milk gives you that delicious layer of cream at the top. The commercial standard for whole milk is 3.2% butterfat but their Whole Milk comes with 4% - 4.2% butterfat. Higher butterfat gives this milk an extra rich and creamy taste. Milk fat is also a source of fat-soluble vitamins, essential fatty acids, and other nutrients that promote growth.
