Collection: Fruitful Hill Farm
Fruitful Hill Farm began in 2002 when the family started raising goats and Longhorns on their Texas farm, hoping to give their children the opportunity to grow up in the country and learn responsibility through caring for animals. By 2008, they expanded into growing produce for sale, and in 2022 the family relocated their farming operation to Illinois to be closer to children and grandchildren.
Their vegetable farming practices are fully sustainable, using only organically approved insect and disease controls, compost, minerals, and soil-building amendments. Weed control is managed through tractor cultivation, hoeing, and hand weeding, while crop rotation and cover crops are used to enrich the soil naturally and reduce pest pressure. Their philosophy is simple: healthy soil grows healthy vegetables. Although they follow organic methods, they are not certified organic in order to avoid the added time, paperwork, and fees.
