San Gabriel Ranch is a 100-acre organic fruit farm located in Valley Center, California, managed by Nick Stridsberg. Nick, who grew up on the original farm property, officially took over management seven years ago while completing a degree in Business Administration at San Diego State University.

Under Nick’s leadership, the farm has shifted from selling bulk fruit to packinghouses to direct sales, building relationships with local retailers, institutions, and processors to ensure higher profitability and traceability. San Gabriel Ranch grows a variety of fruits, including lemons, avocados, and exotic fruits, with a focus on sustainable, high-quality production.

Despite the pressures facing small farmers—rising costs, low wholesale prices, and competition from large-scale producers—Nick has embraced innovation and diversification, including transitioning thirty acres of avocados to exotic fruits and exploring potential cooperative and processing ventures to support local farmers.

San Gabriel Ranch remains a family-rooted, community-focused farm, emphasizing direct connections between growers and consumers, and a resilient approach to small-scale sustainable agriculture.
